Sun Server Engineer Position-

Data Vista is recruiting Sun Microsystems Engineers for a in house position in Bordentown, NJ.

General Responsibilities:
This position requires a self-starter who is highly motivated and capable of taking direction.

  • The successful candidate will operate as part of team leading hw Sun support to our field staff.

  • The candidate will conduct and support the tracking of hardware for system fieldings, as well as provide assistance to senior technicians as directed.

  • Must be able to learn other HP, CIsco, Etc hardware setup and teardown procedures and repair/replace line replaceable units.

  • Will be required to create equipment inventories and document.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Mandatory Skills Requirements: knowledge on E6900, M3k-M5k, Enterprise 3500, Solaris 6-11.

  • Must have the ability to perform routine system maintenance and computer system administrative functions and perform analysis of system operations.

  • Must have knowledge of, and the capability to use operating systems and database management systems.

  • Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and individual peripheral devices.

  • Must be available as needed 7/24.

Other Skills Preferred not required:

  • Familiarization with the following hardware: Dell Servers, Dell Laptops, NetApp Servers, NetApp Disk Shelf, Cisco Switches, Sun Microsystems hardware. Knowledge of Unix/Linux/DOS commands. Knowledge of Windows Client/Server Software and Solaris .


Position requires in house phone support to our field technicians as needed on Sun/Oracle HW issues.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
