Credit & Collections Specialist II

Job Description:
The Manheim Credit & Collections (MCC) Specialist is responsible for MCC functions at operating locations and working within the centralized credit collection process and workflow. On site responsibilities include Customer service, account aging management, administration, operational controls, and delinquent account collection. They will also be responsible for assisting in the global credit collection process. This includes assisting in credit reviews to establish payment methods and credit limits across Manheim; contacting delinquent customers on behalf of Manheim, and assisting with MCC related customer service issues.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing the daily operational and collection functions
  • Customer facing, sale day administration including registration, problem resolution and payment processing
  • Credit line reviews, customer service, account aging management, administration, operational controls, delinquent account collection, payment management and processing
  • Conduct customer credit reviews and make recommendations for appropriate payment plan (i.e. UCL, check, cash, floorplan)
  • Review and monitor outstanding debt for payment term compliance
  • Perform collection of past due receivables
  • Monitor performance of customer portfolio
  • Perform the credit and collection function stated in paragraph above.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manheim Credit & Collection Manager.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferable
  • 1 - 3 years Credit & Collection or Accounting experience required;
  • Prior management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in the Automobile Captive Finance Industry or the Auction business preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Effective and competent supervisory, customer service and organizational skills required
  • Must be detail-oriented, assertive, and efficient
  • Good computer and software knowledge essential
  • Bilingual applicant preferred but not necessary
Travel between market locations for coverage may be necessary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
