Position Overview:The Color Matching Chemist position is currently available for a contract opportunity for an experienced scientist who has worked with colors in personal care, cosmetics, or other chemical based products to add to the already successful team. This independent worker will be responsible for working with vendors to complete lab projects.

Responsibilities of the Color Chemist:

  • Working with vendors to create the ideal color of a cosmetics or personal care product with efficiency and accuracy
  • Color matching of products- finding creative and innovative solutions to color matching challenges
  • Developing batches from scratch, improving on existing batches
  • Creative problem solving
  • Successfully prepping, using and calibrating necessary instrumentation
  • Professionally interacting with customers and keeping detailed notes on products and results

Qualifications for the Color Chemist:

  • 1+ years of color matching in: cosmetics, personal care, paint, ink, specialty chemicals
  • Positive energy and great oral and written communication skills
  • A hands on approach to solving problems
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards including GMP and EPA
  • Education Requirements:
  • A BS degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field is required
  • An MS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science or related preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
